Combo scores

Every two-card combo earns points for what can be measured: how fast it works, what it produces, whether it needs setup and how much it wins in tournaments. At 4 points or more it is banned. Data is measured every week and the new list is announced on the first Monday of each month; the next announcement is on November 2, 2026.

Until November 2, 2026 the official list stays frozen. Here you can see what would change that day.

How points add up

  • Speed, by total mana until it works (both cards plus what running it costs): 4 or less +4, 5 or 6 +3, 7 or 8 +2, 9 or 10 +1.
  • What it produces: +3 if it decides the game, if it makes infinite creature tokens, or if half of the verifier lists that include it already include a way to finish it; +2 for infinite mana or infinite creature deaths or enters; +1 for any other infinite that needs a third card.
  • Setup: −1 if it needs something else on the battlefield, a card in the graveyard or a special state.
  • Tournament wins, with 30 decks or more: +2 if it wins 1.15 times the norm or more, +1 if 1.05, −1 if 0.85 or less. Multiplayer uses cEDH; 1v1 uses Duel Commander.
  • 1v1 only: +1 if it wins by an alternate win condition or mills an opponent’s library.
